Peter Craig, Justin Marks, Ashley Edward Miller, and Zack Stentz would be listed as screenwriters on the project, which he described as a “dream project.”

When asked if he had any ideas for a new Top Gun movie, Scott said, “Because it is so different from what it was before, this world fascinates me. But I’m not interested in doing a remake. I don’t want to recreate myself. I’d like to do a new film.” According to reports, the film will be released this year.

Top Gun History

Top Gun is a 1986 American action drama film directed by Tony Scott and produced in conjunction with Paramount Pictures by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer. Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis lead in the picture, which also has Val Kilmer, Anthony Edwards, and Tom Skerritt in supporting roles. Lieutenant Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, a teenage naval aviator on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, is played by Cruise.
