Fast 9 is the latest action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Daniel Casey. A sequel to 2017’s The Fate of the Furious, it will be the ninth installment in the main Fast 9 & Furious franchise and the tenth full-length Fast & Furious film released overall.

The fast 9  movie will star Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, John Cena, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron and Michael Rooker.

Fast 9  is scheduled for release on April, 2021 by Universal Pictures Directed by Justin Lin / Produced by / Vin Diesel / Clayton Townsend Neal H. Moritz Written by Daniel Casey Based on Characters by Gary Scott Thompson.

Fast 9 Cast: Who’s coming back?

Pretty early on it was clear that Vin Diesel (Dom), Michelle Rodriguez (Letty) and Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges (Tej) would be back reprising their roles.

After missing out on the last movie, Jordana Brewster has also been confirmed to return as Dom’s sister Mia. It’ll be interesting to see how she’s weaved back into the storyline, since Mia was last seen retiring for a quieter life with Brian (played by the late Paul Walker).

Joining the cast is Cardi B in a “small role.” Her inclusion in the ninth instalment was confirmed by – you guessed it – Vin Diesel’s Instagram video. The singer has also recently featured in Jennifer Lopez’s film Hustlers.

Tyrese Gibson (Roman) is a strong possibility for a return, though Gibson did previously vow never to work with Johnson again. There’s also the chance of returns for Lucas Black (Sean), Nathalie Emmanuel (Ramsey), Kurt Russell (Mr Nobody) and Scott Eastwood (Eric).

Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto, a former criminal and professional street racer who has retired and settled down with his wife, Letty, and his son, Brian Marcos.

Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz, Dom’s wife, and a former criminal and professional street racer.

Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce, an ex-habitual offender and a member of Dom’s team.

Chris “Ludacris” Bridges as Tej Parker, a mechanic from Miami and a member of Dom’s team.

John Cena as Jakob Toretto, Dom and Mia’s brother who is working as a master thief, assassin, and a high-performance driver.
Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto, Dom and Jakob’s sister and a former member of his team who has settled down with her partner, Brian O’Conner, and their two children.

Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey, a British computer hacktivist and a member of Dom’s team.
Sung Kang as Han Lue, a former member of Dom’s team who was believed to have been killed.
Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw.

Charlize Theron as Cipher, a criminal mastermind, and cyberterrorist who teams up with Jakob.
Lucas Black reprises his role as Sean Boswell while Bow Wow and Jason Tobin reprise their roles as Twinkie and Earl Hu from The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006), respectively.

Cardi B portrays Leysa, a woman who shares a history with Dom. Anna Sawai portrays Elle while Michael Rooker was cast as Buddy. Additionally, Finn Cole, Vinnie Bennett, Ozuna, and Francis Ngannou have been cast in undisclosed roles.

Fast 9 official soundtrack will be released concurrently with the film. In the lead up to the soundtrack, a mixtape titled Road to F9, will be released prior to the soundtrack and will feature music inspired by the film. The mixtape was preceded by the single “One Shot” by YoungBoy Never Broke Again and Lil Baby
