5 DC Villains Miles Morales Can Beat (& 5 He Has No Chance Against)

Despite being a relatively new character, Miles Morales has quickly become one of the most popular characters in the Marvel universe. Over the years, Miles has really grown into his role as Spider-Man, both honoring Peter Parker while still doing things a bit differently.

Because of this, Miles has found all sorts of creative ways to take on of villains. No matter how hopeless he’s seemed at times, the character has still found a way to emerge victoriously. However, no matter how powerful or clever Miles may be, some foes are still simply too powerful to be taken down. Looking at how he would fare within the DC universe, here is our list of 5 DC villains Miles Morales would be able to defeat, and 5 he stands no chance against.

10 Joker (Can Beat)

For as much trouble as the Joker has given Batman over the years, Miles would actually be able to make very swift work of him. Of course, Joker himself doesn’t have any powers, so the fight does seem a bit unfair, but that still doesn’t change the fact that he is one of the deadliest DC characters around.

Simply put, Miles’ own abilities would easily be able to overcome almost anything Joker could throw at him. Miles can attack from a distance with his webs, hide with his invisibility, and zap Joker with a venom-blast. So long as he can avoid the Joker’s deadly traps, Joker is practically guaranteed to lose.

9 Deathstroke (Can’t Beat)

Even with his invisibility, Miles isn’t likely to succeed against the likes of Deathstroke. As one of the deadliest assassins in the DC universe, Deathstroke has even managed to escape from characters like Superman and Wonder Woman.

The villain is also known for successfully taking down the Teen Titans on several occasions, and has even received praise from Batman in terms of his combat abilities. Because he is so deadly, Deathstroke would likely be able to take the more inexperienced Miles out very quickly. Even with Miles’ superhuman abilities, Deathstroke’s own skills are likely enough to keep the ball in his court, making him the more likely victor between the two.

8 Lex Luthor (Can Beat)

According to Doomsday Clock, Lex Luthor is the smartest man on the planet in the DC universe. Despite this, Miles still stands a pretty good chance against the villain, as Lex commonly manipulates certain factors to get at Superman, only rarely attacking the Man of Steel head-on.

No matter how much advanced tech Luthor can create, he tends to fight by exploiting weaknesses. Without a particular Kryptonite of his own, Miles stands a much better chance against Luthor and is certainly far more experienced in terms of hand-to-hand combat. Even with all of the technology at Luthor’s disposal, Miles still stands a better chance than even Superman himself does against Lex Luthor.

7 Black Adam (Can’t Beat)

As one of the most powerful DC villains around, it isn’t hard to see how Black Adam would be able to beat Miles Morales. With the ability to strike at close range and from a distance, Adam has an even greater advantage through his magical abilities.

Because of that, it is truly hard to gauge if Miles’ own powers would be of any advantage in this case. Considering all the power that Black Adam holds, it is no surprise that the character has been able to take on Superman himself. Since that is no easy feat, it only makes sense that he would easily be able to take down Miles.

6 Captain Cold (Can Beat)

However clever and cunning Leonard Snart may be, Miles would easily be able to take down the villain. Of course, if the rest of The Rogues are there to assist him, Miles may have a much more difficult time, but in a one-on-one fight, he would easily be able to take Captain Cold.

While the molecules of Cold’s gun may be enough to slow down The Flash, it would have very little effect on Miles. Since he could still move as fast as normal, and since Cold can’t see invisible objects, Miles has an incredible advantage over the villain, practically guaranteeing his victory.

5 Sinestro (Can’t Beat)

Though they are different from Green Lantern Rings in many ways, Sinestro Corps Rings come with a lot of the same advantages, including a constant shield that is placed around the body of the wearer. While this shield typically protects from the harsh conditions of space and most physical attacks, it is very hard to imagine a way that Miles alone could break through it.

Considering how powerful the rings are, almost all of Miles’ attacks are obsolete, and would do absolutely nothing major to Sinestro. Given the insane amount of power he has to begin with, it is no surprise that the villain would be able to beat Miles.

4 Black Manta (Can Beat)

Even assuming Manta’s helmet would allow him to see an invisible Miles, Manta is much more of a close-range combatant, while Miles can also strike from a distance. Because of this massive advantage, it is easy to believe that Spider-Man would be able to take down one of Aquaman’s most formidable foes.

Furthermore, Miles also has the advantage of being far more agile than Manta, making his swift movements harder for the villain to keep track of. Of course, all of these claims are assuming the fight takes place above the water, but it is still hard to see any way in which Miles could lose a fight like this.

3 Ocean Master (Can’t Beat)

Even assuming the fight takes place above water, Ocean Master is still far more likely to win out over Miles. Firstly, he still has Atlantean physiology, which comes with all sorts of advantages and likely makes him invulnerable to Miles’ venom-blast.

Secondly, Orm is still a very experienced fighter and a truly terrifying one at that. With the ability to match Miles in combat as well as the ability to manipulate the water around him, it is really hard to see how Miles would emerge victorious. Unless the two were fighting in a desert for some reason, Ocean Master has a practically guaranteed victory.

2 Cheetah (Can Beat)

The Wonder Woman villain is officially in the top 10 of DC’s fastest characters. With this in mind, it would be incredibly difficult for Miles to beat her, but it is still possible. So long as he can keep his distance, Miles’ webs could be used to slow Cheetah down.

Even though her claws may be able to cut through his webs, Miles could still find a way to immobilize Cheetah. From there, he could also land a venom-blast, which would very likely be enough to bring Cheetah down in moments as well. While it would be incredibly difficult for him to do so, Miles still stands a chance at defeating this villain.

1 Reverse-Flash (Can’t Beat)

However fast Cheetah may be, Reverse-Flash is definitely much faster. In fact, like the Scarlet Speedsters he typically fights, Thawne can phase through solid objects, rendering all of Miles’ abilities and attacks useless.

Even if Miles were able to keep track of the villain, he just wouldn’t be able to land a hit of any sorts on him. Furthermore, Miles’ spider-sense can only defend him to a point, but Thawne likely moves even faster than Miles can even react. Unfortunately, Thawne is just too fast for Miles to really do anything, making this a swift victory for Reverse Flash.
