Microsoft And Samsung Are Teaming Up For Cloud Gaming

Microsoft And Samsung Are Teaming Up For Cloud Gaming

During an event last week, Samsung announced that it would be partnering with Microsoft in developing a “premium cloud-based game streaming experience”.

Samsung, whose market share in the mobile phone industry has been growing at a steady pace, has revealed that they will be working together with Microsoft to bring the cloud gaming experience to their customers.

Details are scant but Samsung indicated that this is just the beginning. Microsoft has effectively commented that more details are on the way. It seems that we will have to wait before we find out more about what exactly this new partnership will entail.

Considering that Samsung is a market leader when it comes to all things tech-related and Microsoft have been at the fore-front of cloud-based gaming, it makes sense that these two would work together to improve both their offerings.

Furthermore, Xbox lead Phil Spencer recently commented on how Sony and Nintendo aren’t considered their competition any more but that cloud companies such as Google and Amazon pose a far greater threat to them. “When you talk about Nintendo and Sony, we have a ton of respect for them, but we see Amazon and Google as the main competitors going forward.”

This makes sense as Microsoft have bee steadily working on improving their cloud-based gaming offerings and teaming up with Samsung could allow them to reach a far greater consumer base. This, in turn, will attract more developers to Microsoft’s platforms as they will be able to bring their games to a far greater audience.
