Hasbro Bringing Back Tiger Electronics LCD Handheld Games

Nostalgia has become a great way of making money for companies. From reviving old game franchises to re-releasing classic consoles, it has been proven time and again that we all long for things from yesteryear. Hasbro has clearly decided to cash-in on this trend with the re-release of Tiger Electronics LCD handheld games.

For those old enough to remember, way before colourful handheld consoles, there were the simplistic Tiger Electronics LCD handheld games. Many of us still have fond memories playing with these sitting in the backseat while on a road trip with our family or showing off our latest games to our friends on the playground.

For those who aren’t familiar with the Tiger Electronic handheld games, the devices basically contained one single game and had monochromatic graphics displayed on a static screen. The devices work with two AA batteries, which as you can guess is not included with the device.

Hasbro announced that they will be releasing four new versions of this iconic handheld device, which are The Little Mermaid, Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Transformers: Generation 2 and X-Men Project X.

The American toy manufacturer also stated that the devices’ designs and technology were created with the original ones in mind. These devices will retail for around $14.99 each, which isn’t a bad price at all considering all the nostalgic vibes you will no doubt have while playing.

With the technology available in the current handheld consoles, this old-timey device might not appeal to everyone. However, there are some of us who can’t wait to get all nostalgic about these classic handheld games.

Which other Tiger Electronics games would you like to see Hasbro release?
