Alison Brie Addresses the She-Hulk Casting Rumors

Last summer, Marvel Studios revealed that She-Hulk will enter the MCU in her own series on Disney+. In the comics, attorney Jennifer Walters gained her She-Hulk persona after an emergency blood transfusion from her cousin, Bruce Banner AKA the Hulk. While Marvel hasn’t officially stated which actresses are being looked at for the role, the hot rumor is that the studio wants “an Alison Brie-type” for She-Hulk. And that caught the attention of Brie herself during an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden.

In the clip below, Brie jokingly suggests that she contacted Marvel after the rumors started. However, she immediately walked that back. But when she was asked directly whether she wants to play She-Hulk, Brie simply said “I find it interesting.”

Brie also explained that she doesn’t really use Twitter, so the initial rumors escaped her attention.

“I didn’t realize it was such a trending thing, but I woke up to a lot of Instagram posts of side-by-side pictures of myself and She-Hulk,” noted Brie. “Which I just thought, ‘cool.’ Then that quote about an Alison Brie-type. Seriously, I found it very exciting because for years I’ve auditioned for the Anne Hathaway-type or the Zooey Deschanel-type. I was very flattered to be my own type for somebody else.”

Marvel hasn’t confirmed any She-Hulk cast members yet. However, Mark Ruffalo hasn’t ruled out reprising his role as the Hulk.  Additionally, Marvel’s Kevin Feige has said that She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, and Moon Knight will eventually show up in the Marvel movies. That means She-Hulk may be a long term commitment for the actress who lands the part.
