Marvel Studios Artist Draws Ultron Hoarding Toilet Paper

As people everywhere stock up on household items needed for their period of self-isolation to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), many have found stores’ shelves empty of toilet paper. Who’s been hoarding it all?

The answer, apparently, is a true supervillain: the evil robot accidentally created by the good guys in Avengers: Age of Ultron. Charlie Wen, Head of Visual Development at Marvel Studios, posted the evidence with a portrait of a surgical mask-wearing Ultron in a bunker full of packages of bath tissue.

The character of Ultron was adapted from the comics to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. The image was accompanied by a trail of appropriately themed emoji and the accusation, “That’s where all the #toiletpaper went!!!”

Wen also had some sage words to go with the lighthearted artwork. “In all seriousness, I hope all of you stay healthy during these arduous times. Stock up, but don’t go crazy like #ultron here. Leave some for your neighbors!”

To add insult to injury, it’s unlikely that Ultron even needs a mask – let alone toilet paper.
