Michael Biehn Joins the Cast of The Mandalorian Season 2

Michael Biehn Joins the Cast of The Mandalorian Season 2

Rosario Dawson won’t be the only new addition to The Mandalorian later this year. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the Disney+ series has recruited another big name for its sophomore season, and he certainly knows his way around a science fiction franchise. Michael Biehn will co-star as a bounty hunter when the show returns this fall.

Biehn of course had a star-making turn in James Cameron’s first Terminator film in 1984, where he originated the role of Kyle Reese. He later re-teamed with Cameron for Aliens in 1986, playing Corporal Hicks, as well as The Abyss in 1989, in which he played Lt. Coffey. During the ‘90s, he also made memorable appearances in films like Tombstone and The Rock.

It’s not clear if Biehn’s character will be a friend or foe to Pedro Pascal’s Din Djarin. It’s certainly possible that he’ll be hunting the Mandalorian after his escape from Giancarlo Esposito’s Moff Gideon in the first season finale. Regardless, it should be fun to see Biehn show up in a high-profile sci-fi series; especially since he’s spent the last few years appearing in mostly obscure projects.

Earlier this month, cast and crew members announced that The Mandalorian officially wrapped production on its second season. With this, it’s safe to assume that Biehn has already completed his scenes. Aside from his and Dawson’s characters, fans of the show have plenty to look forward to this year. Esposito will have an expanded role as Gideon, and viewers will finally learn Baby Yoda’s real name.

The Mandalorian will premiere its second season on Disney+ this October.
