Could God Of War Be Heading to Other Platforms?

A console’s first-party titles have always been a point of pride. Games like Gears of War and Halo have defined Microsoft’s Xbox, where exclusive games like Uncharted and Last of Us have lured fans to the Playstation. However, we recently saw gamers lose their collective minds when it was announced that critically acclaimed PlayStation exclusives like Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn would be heading to PC. Now, new speculation could suggest that the God of War could be going the same route.

 God Of War

The rumours that God of War could be heading to other platforms was sparked by the “Only on PlayStation” phrase being eerily absent from the game’s Playstation page.

This has spurred the rumours that the game could, as is the case with Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn, be heading to PC.

It is, however, important to note that although the phrase has been synonymous with PlayStation exclusive games, other titles also have the phrase missing, including the recently released Dreams. Of course, this has not stopped the rumour from spreading.

Does this mean we will be seeing previously exclusive Playstation games popping up on Xbox or Nintendo consoles? Highly unlikely.

More importantly, does it matter that Sony is making some of their best games, and arguably some of the best games of this generation, available to a wider group of gamers? Maybe.

It is also important to keep in mind that the more games Sony and their respective first-party studios sell, the more money they make and the more great games these studios can develop. It’s basically a win-win situation.

Maybe it’s time we stop smashing our consoles in protest of games being made available to a wider audience and instead embrace the fact that games are there for everyone to enjoy, not just a select group. After all, in these trying times, games will be what keeps many players happy. The more, the merrier.
