Own A LEGO Technic Version of Dom’s 1970 Dodge Charger From Fast And The Furious

The LEGO Technic line has always been about trying to recreate the intricacies of, for instance, machinery in LEGO form. There have been some astonishingly good LEGO Technic sets released over the last few years. However, the most recent release is said to get Fast and the Furious fans really excited.

LEGO and Universal revealed that they will be releasing a LEGO Technic version of Dominic Toretto’s (played by Vin Diesel) iconic 1970 Dodge Charger.

Of course, being part of the Technic line, the car not only looks great but has a whole host of tiny moving parts. The set consists of 1077 pieces and is a 1:13 scale authentic replica of the famous car seen in the film. It measures 15″ long, 6″ wide and 4″ high.

Samuel Tacchi, the man who designed the set, mentions how LEGO worked closely with the studio behind the film franchise. “We worked really closely with the Universal team to bring Dom’s Dodge Charger to life in the most minute detail to inspire Fast & Furious fans and Lego Technic builders around the world.”

LEGO Technic is all about the details and this set doesn’t disappoint. A replica of the car’s V8 engine is visible underneath the hood, including moving pistons, and the trunk contains two nitro bottles. The car even includes a mini fire extinguisher for when things go wrong.

The set is available for pre-order from the LEGO website and will be released globally and South Africa starting from the 27th of April 2020, at a recommended retail price of R1,699.99.

The next film in the long-running Fast and The Furious franchise is set to release in theatres in April 2021.
