There is little doubt that Sony’s next-gen PlayStation 5 DualSense controller has a sleek and gorgeous design, even with it’s muted and subdued black and white colour scheme. Having said this, it didn’t take fans long to re-imagine the controller with a new coat of paint and a touch of colour.
Although Sony only announced the DualSense controller a few hours ago, fans have already flooded the internet with what their ideal colour scheme would be for the PlayStation 5 controller. It is quite impressive how Sony’s minimalistic design actually lends itself to various colour schemes.
Fans have created mock-ups of the controller sporting everything from bright over-the-top colours, more subdued tones and even designed inspired by some of their favourite PlayStation games.

Some of the best of these designs feature a classic black design, similar to the DualShock 4, some very bright colours that might be a little too much and, our favourite, the God of War and Spider-Man-inspired designs.
So in love with the look of the #Dualsense. Decided to make some quick mockups based on some of my favorite PlayStation franchises! #PS5 pic.twitter.com/2LJrkxtxlV

It’s actually quite impressive to see the creativity of these fans. We do wish that Sony takes notice and actually produces some of these and make them commercially available.

There are even some designs inspired by Sony’s competitors, such as the Xbox-inspired white and grey-design, which wouldn’t look out of place standing next ta a Microsft console.
Sony’s next-gen controller, the aptly named DualSense, comes with a whole host of features not available on the DualShock 4 including adaptive, haptic triggers, a built-in mic and USB-C port for charging.
Although Sony’s new design does differ drastically from previous controller designs, fans seem to have embraced the DualSense’s sleek design. Personally, I can’t wait for Sony to release a clear version of the controller.

Hopefully, the new controller’s reveal means that Sony will now finally show off the PlayStation 5. Fans will no doubt want to see if the new design for the controller carries over to Sony’s next-gen console.
