by telling us about an anime that motivated you to create something yourself, and what you created–see more below:

In Eizouken, we see how Asakusa was inspired to create worlds as a child by watching an anime show based on Hayao Miyazaki’s 1978 TV series Future Boy Conan.

Has there been an anime from the past (or more recently) that inspired YOU to create and to think creatively—whether you’re a writer, an artist, a designer, a filmmaker, or someone who works in engineering, science or another field?

Share your inspiration with us: tell us about a scene or a setting you saw in anime that gave you motivation to make new things yourself, and how it worked out! We’ll give away the page protector to one of the aspiring creators out there.

The grand prize page protector winner will also win assorted copies of recent Dark Horse Manga volumes, including Elfen Lied, What’s Michael, Ms. Koizumi Loves Ramen Noodles, Mob Psycho 100, and more. Four additional winners will each receive assorted manga prize packs. Winners will be drawn at random from qualified entries.

Giveaway opens at 3:00 pm Pacific time on Tuesday, March 23, 2020, and closes at 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 25, 2020. Winners will be randomly drawn and notified by Monday, March 30, 2020.
