Moore delivers another outstanding performance in this raw and emotional story. Without being overly sentimental, the movie crafts a touching and honest depiction of this disease.

6 The Aviator (7.5)


Baldwin worked with cinematic legend Martin Scorsese for the first time in The Aviator. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio as Howard Hughes, the famous businessman, director and pilot who fought his own demons to break boundaries in every endeavor he embarked on. Baldwin plays Juan Tripp, the president of Pan Am and one of Hughes’ greatest adversaries.

When an obnoxious new family moves into their home, the new ghosts seek the help of a mischievous ghost named Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton).

Keaton gives a tour de force comedic performance as the wild and unhinged title character. Tim Burton also gets a great chance to show off his filmmaking aesthetic in this stylish and fun comedy.

4 The Hunt For Red October (7.6)


Baldwin originated the role of Jack Ryan in this Cold War thriller. After a rogue Soviet captain (Sean Connery) enter American waters with his nuclear submarine, CIA analyst Jack Ryan is called upon to determine if the captain is a threat or an ally.

The movie is an exciting and tense thriller with solid performances from its impressive cast. Baldwin makes for a great reluctant hero while Connery commands the screen as usual. It remains a great piece of entertainment to this day.

Baldwin reteamed with Martin Scorsese again as well as joining the incredible ensemble of The Departed. Leonardo DiCaprio plays a cop going undercover in a Boston mob led by gangster Frank Costello (Jack Nicholson). Meanwhile, Costello has one of his own men (Matt Damon) undercover in the police force. It’s a race to see which mole can expose the other first.

Baldwin has a great supporting role as a police captain, and he joins other big names like Mark Wahlberg and Martin Sheen. It is a violent, complex and fun crime epic from a filmmaking master.
