Sky Cinema: What’s New in May 2020?

It’s time to take a look at what Sky Cinema has to offer us this May! There are some solid new movies in the lineup this month, and a trio of action-packed collections to look forward to, including the entire Men in Black franchise and a slew of Mission: Impossible movies.

Without further ado, here’s everything coming to Sky Cinema in May…

Premieres

Once Upon A Time… In Hollywood – May 1st

Quentin Tarantino‘s 60s-set tale stars Leonardo DiCaprio as TV actor Rick Dalton and Brad Pitt as his stunt double, Cliff Booth, while a twisting LA story leads up to the murders of Sharon Tate and Leno LaBianca at the hands of Manson family members. Kinda.

Charming (2018) – May 2nd

Prince Philippe Charming is cursed to propose to every woman he meets, and has to find his true love by his 21st birthday or face the prospect of never being king. Demi Lovato, Sia, Avril Lavigne, Ashley Tisdale and John Cleese provide the voices in this animated tale.

Dora and the Lost City of Gold – May 8th

A teen version of Dora the Explorer has to save her adventurous parents and solve a jungle mystery. It’s really quite good, and we deserve many sequels.

Stuber – May 9th

Uber driver Stu picks up a cop looking for the drug dealer who murdered his partner. An old school action buddy comedy with Dave Bautista and Kumail Nanjiani.

Alita: Battle Angel – May 15th

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and produced by James Cameron, Alita took the better part of two decades to create for the screen. The result? A hot mess well worth checking out.

Curious George: Royal Monkey (2019) – May 16th

George accidentally swaps places with an identical-looking Royal Monkey. Should keep the kids entertained for an hour or so.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw – May 22nd

In the Fast & Furious spinoff, Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) partners with Deckard Shaw (The Statham) to save the world, as Idris Elba repeatedly gets in their way. Utterly ludicrous stuff, but you knew that.

Crawl (2019) – May 29th

The Hills Have Eyes director Alexandre Aja brings some tight horror magic to the story of blonde bad-ass Haley, who sets out to rescue her depressed father in the middle of a huge Category 5 hurricane. Many alligators, who are out for a swim in the resulting floodwaters, are like “cool, lunch”.
