All this week’s Netflix Originals (Available from Friday 1st May 2020)

One of the great things about Netflix is their Netflix Original content – be it films or series made by Netflix themselves or exclusive content available only on Netflix after it airs on regular TV. Every week we will give you a round-up of the new Netflix Originals becoming available in the next week. We will aim to post every week on Thursday evening with what will be available over the coming week. Perfect if you’re looking to check out what new Originals are available to watch over your weekend or if you’re planning a week-long Netflix binge-watch! All Day and a Night

‘Jahkor’ (Ashton Sanders) dreams of being a rapper. When he learns he is to become a father his ambition to provide for his new family drives him to make decisions that preceded him as the son of a man in prison for his own actions. In a gang-war in Oakland, Jahkor finds himself following his father’s footsteps landing himself in prison beside his father, J.D (Jeffrey Wright). Jahkor, frustrated that he has taken the same path of his father that he swore he wouldn’t, begins a journey of self-discovery as he hopes to break the cycle that feels unavoidable, for his newborn son.

The Half Of It

Ellie Choo lives in the sleepy town of ‘Squahamish’ with her father. A bright kid, she is already making a living churning out essays for her peers for a fee when one day she accepts the plea of a young man with love on his mind. Not for Ellie, but for someone else that he needs to write a love letter to. Who else would be better to write a letter as him to his crush, why no other than Ellie Choo of course but will that go to plan? You’ll have to watch to find that out but we’re placing bets its a love story of a different kind.

Hollywood

A journey back in time with this limited series that seeks to rewrite the history books. A number of wannabe stars tackle hurdles head-on as they strive to be the next big thing, ‘Hollywood’ challenges all that was (is?) wrong with the Holywood movie industry. Writer and director Ryan Murphy presents (alongside a host of co-producers) this seven-episode step back in time to where it all began and challenges the stereotypes and the prejudices that were seemingly all part of the showbiz.

Into The Night

When things get a little strange on earth with news reports of people dropping like flies on a sunny day, people start to get nervous. An overnight flight to Brussels is hijacked by the one man who seems to know what is happening. In a bid to escape the fatal destiny of anyone the daylight touches – the hijacker, the passengers and the crew must continue to travel ‘Into The Night’ to stay away from the daylight. Starring ‘Laurent Capelluto’, ‘Alba Gaia Bellugi’ and ‘Astrid Whettnall’.

Mrs Serial Killer

Written and directed by ‘Shirish Kunder’ and produced by his wife ‘Farah Khan’, ‘Mrs Serial Killer is the story of a woman whose husband has been arrested and convicted of serial murder. In a bid to prove his innocence beyond any doubt, she must take drastic measures above and beyond the call of marriage. The Hindi language film stars Jacqueline Fernandez, Manoj Bajpayee and Mohit Raina.
