DC Multiverse Wonder Woman 84 In-Hand Gallery – The Toyark

McFarlane Toys burst on the scene at the start of 2020 with their new DC Multiverse line of figures (check our galleries here). There were a lot that dropped right away, and we’ve been waiting for the next round to hit. Today we get the second batch with 2 new Wonder Woman 84 figures. These would have been on shelves in the time leading up to the movie release, but alas, we all need to wait due to world events. The figures however, are dropping at retail this month and we have copies to check out after the break.

We get a standard Wonder Woman, in traditional gear, and a Golden Armor version. Both looks have been seen in the trailers. The Golden Armor one is sharp, featuring detachable wings and a flight stand. Standard Diana comes with two lassos, one extended and one wrapped up for her belt.

Read on to check them both out after the break, along with some additional thoughts, courtesy of McFarlane Toys!

Overall Thoughts:

Digging the Golden Armor version. Face is a bit soft, but captures essence of Gal Gadot from most angles. The flight stand is welcome addition, you can get great hovering poses for when she returns to the shelves. The standard WW – hmm. Not hating. I think it’s great from toes to shoulders. Articulation is there. Colors pop, paint well applied. Sculpt has great detailing. The head – not executed well. Doesn’t capture the actor’s likeness, I think I caught glimmers from one or two angles. The hair is sculpted in a way that is uneven, it’s thicker on one side than the other, and it interferes with head movement. On top of this, the facial features seem a bit off-center when looking dead on, like she has 20% more cheek on one side. And to cap it off, make up is too strong. Not as strong as what was seen at Toy Fair, but still a bit much. So basically, if standard WW had a different head, would be a really solid offering.

Both can be made to pop in photos, and Wonder Woman standard will work as a background character in a DCEU lineup on shelf. Golden Armor is a winner for sure tho. Check out our shots below and see for yourselves! They should be hitting retailers soon!
