If you’re like me and are looking for something new to stream, or if you’re looking to add a little bit of culture while #AtHome, then virtual tours are perfect for you. My family and I are certainly looking forward to traveling again, and these virtual visits have been a way for us to help fight cabin fever.

First, you will need to install the Amazon Silk browser or Firefox app on Fire TV. The browser works on your TV just like it would on your computer. Using a browser on Fire TV, you can virtually visit some of the world’s most amazing museums, drop-in on pandas, or plan a future trip a theme park — all from the comfort of your couch. You can also visit these places using the browser on your Fire tablet.

Here is a list of places you can explore:

Museums
In addition to the Louvre that we highlighted in a previous blog post, here are just a few other world-renowned museums with virtual tours and exhibits that allow you to browse and visit at your own pace.

  • The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA): The MoMA’s renowned collection is available to view online, including Monet’s Water Lilies, van Gogh’s The Starry Night, and Picasso’s Les Demoiselles d’Avignon, along with more recent works by Andy Warhol, Elizabeth Murray, Cindy Sherman, and many others.
  • Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History: The Smithsonian may be closed, but you can still learn all about natural history from your home with the museum’s digital resources. Browse the museum’s millions of images, take a virtual tour of the of the museum’s permanent, temporary, and past exhibitions, and more.
  • Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum: Featuring over 1,700 artworks by more than 625 artists, the Guggenheim’s Collection Online presents a searchable database of selected artworks from the Guggenheim’s permanent collection.
  • Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum: Feel like you’re in Madrid with a virtual visit to this landmark art museum, which houses some of Europe’s most celebrated artists like Rembrandt and Dali.
  • British Museum: You can go on a virtual visit to more than 60 galleries and see highlights like the Rosetta Stone in the Egyptian Sculpture Gallery or discover gems like the beautiful textiles in the Sainsbury African Galleries. Or see other ways to explore the British Museum.

Zoos, Aquariums, and Theme Parks

  • San Diego Zoo and Safari Park: The San Diego Zoo and Safari Park may be closed for now, but you can still virtually visit the remarkable wildlife under their care. Visit pandas, koalas, tigers, and more with their many live cams.
  • Monterey Bay Aquarium: The aquarium is widely considered to be one of the best in the world. With ten live cams to choose from, you can experience the wonder of the ocean no matter where you are.
  • National Aquarium: Experience Baltimore’s National Aquarium’s Blacktip Reef and other exhibits virtually or take a tour of the aquarium.
  • Florida Theme Parks — Take a virtual tour of Walt Disney World Resort, SeaWorld Florida, and Legoland Florida for a unique way to experience rides and exhibits #AtHome.
