The VPR cast reunited virtually for Scheana Shay’s 35th birthday. This cast knows how to party and have a good time, even while in quarantine. While Scheana Shay’s birthday was not what she expected, her Vanderpump Rules costars made the most out of this difficult time.
The state of California still has a stay-at-home order amid the coronavirus pandemic. The “Scheananigans with Scheana Shay” podcast host caught up with her famous Bravo friends via Zoom on Thursday, May 7. Brittany Cartwright shared a snapshot from their virtual celebration on her Instagram Stories. Read on to find out who else attended Scheana Shay’s virtual bash.
VPR cast stages a virtual party for Scheana Shay’s birthday
On Season 8 of Vanderpump Rules, Scheana Shay comes off as an outsider. She often spends time with the newbies. But it seems like she’s still close to most of the original VPR cast, per Us Weekly. Brittany Cartwright posted a photo on her Instagram Stories that showed herself alongside her costars Stassi Schroeder and her fiancé, Beau Clark, Ariana Madix, Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Raquel Leviss, and Lala Kent’s fiancé Randall Emmett.
Raquel also took to her Instagram Stories to share more snapshots from the virtual celebration. She posted a video showing more VPR faces, including Peter Madrigal, Lala Kent, and Scheana Shay’s new boyfriend, Brock Davies. Meanwhile, Peter shared a video from the Zoom call that included other Vanderpump Rules castmates, such as Tom Sandoval “headbanging” to some rock music playing in the background.
On the new season of Vanderpump Rules, Scheana didn’t seem happy about being single in her thirties. She was even depicted as a “desperate, middle-aged waitress.” In an interview with Channel Q’s The Morning Beat on Tuesday, May 5, Scheana says she feels like she’s “playing a character” on the reality series.
“That is my role to play here. Nothing from my actual life is shown outside of it,” she admitted. “I had so much going on last year, but it’s just brushed over because we have 18 other cast members’ lives to cover.”
It’s probably why Scheana is often seen hanging out with the new castmates. This season, she finds herself in the middle of a love quartet with Dayna Kathan, Brett Caprioni, and Max Boyens.
Does Scheana Shay hate turning 35?
However, Scheana’s journey with fertility treatments was featured on VPR. She shared her struggles with the long and painful process of egg retrieval. Scheana insists that she’s not making up storylines to stay on the show. She felt it was important for her followers to see what she’s been going through.
But nowadays, Scheana feels good about being in her thirties. She wrote on Instagram, “Middle-aged never felt so good.”
A major clue that a Vanderpump Rules virtual reunion is happening
Stassi Schroeder recently shared a photo of herself glammed up for the virtual VPR reunion. The 31-year-old reality star rocked her signature makeup look in a new Instagram post. In the caption, she admitted that she did her own makeup, and she tagged jeweler Georgi Jules. Stassi even teased about the virtual reunion.
She previously admitted that she dreaded the upcoming Vanderpump Rules virtual reunion taping, per Us Weekly. On her Straight Up With Stassi podcast, the author said that all-day reunion taping “is the worst day of the year.” Sometimes taping can last up to 14 hours. Hopefully, it wasn’t as bad since they had to do amid the quarantine.
The Season 8 reunion of VPR was taped last week. Due to the social distancing measures still in place in California, all the cast members reunited with host Andy Cohen virtually from their homes.
