There are so many exciting and memorable moments in the Dragon Ball franchise that it can be hard to pick a favorite! But who doesn’t remember the first time they were introduced to the awesomeness that is Super Saiyan 3? This power up created by Akira Toriyama is iconic for a reason, so we’re going to explore just what makes it so interesting and how it’s been used over the course of the series. We all know it bestows upon the user locks of gorgeous golden hair, but did you know that it almost gave them a tail like a Great Ape? We first saw this form during the Buu Saga, when our beloved hero Son Goku was trying to buy time for Trunks to track down the Dragon Radar. Our favorite Saiyans might be able to maintain this mode for very long, but when they do it’s truly something to behold.
