THE POWERPUFF GIRLS (a fan film by Chris .R. Notarile)

On a routine stopping of a routine purse-snatching, Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup cross paths a different kind of nemesis. But will the girls be able to overcome this demon of the darkness? Or will they fall victim to this sinister savage?

~ A WORD FROM CHRIS ~

If you haven’t already picked up on it, this short is actually an anti-bully PSA. I didn’t want to make it overly preachy, nor did I want to imply that you should fight your bullies. Instead, the core message is that you should embrace your bully and try to befriend them, because chances are, they just don’t know how to make friends themselves. I’m not saying this is always case, but sometimes, it can be.

Shot over the course of two days, in the heart of Los Angeles, my goal was to try and make the “Townsville” scenes seem as accurate to their cartoon counterparts as one can do with a shoe string budget.

But, once the demon character shows up and we realize that this is all part of a child”s imagination, the Powerpuff Girls deliberately break character when they stand up to the monster. I felt it was the best way to get the message of the movie across since the “cartoon” voices might be a little distracting.
