Researchers at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory invented a new 3D printer, which they nicknamed “replicator” after the infamous Star Trek device. The printer makes objects appear seemingly out of thin air by using an off-the-shelf video projector to beam light into a cylinder of light-sensitive resin.
