Why The DCEU’s Future Is Brighter Than The MCU’s
Via CBR.com

While the DC Extended Universe initially failed to capture the same success and attention as the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all of that might be set to change in the not so distant future. In this video, we’re going to break down just why the DCEU’s future may be very, very bright.

When the MCU launched with 2008’s Iron Man, Marvel Studios changed the game in a number of key ways, providing a blueprint for how to create a successful cinematic universe. In many ways, the MCU has remained the ideal and gold standard for cinematic universes, but the franchise is now at a pretty major crossroads following the events of Avengers: Endgame. This is where the DCEU might have some advantage over its competition, as its solo films are finally starting to hit their stride in major ways. But that’s not all: The DCEU is also fully embracing the concept of a multiverse, which might just make it bigger than the MCU sooner rather than later.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, it’s not totally clear just what shape the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will take. While there’s a good indication the characters Disney acquired from 21st Century Fox will soon arrive, there’s not much solid information on just when or how that might happen. Right now, a number of productions have either been delayed or had their release dates changed as a result of the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. However, at this time, there’s no indication those delays will affect the plots of any of those projects.

While the latest DCEU film, Birds of Prey, struggled at the box office, the cinematic universe is still alive and well following the successes of Aquaman and Wonder Woman. Currently, Wonder Woman 1984 is the next DCEU movie, and after several delays the film is slated for release on Oct. 2.

10 Mistakes The DCEU Made That Prevented It From Matching The MCU’s Success
Via screenrant.com

The MCU has always been more successful than the DCEU, but why exactly is that? What mistakes has the DCEU been making?

Despite a couple of odd hits with movies like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the DC Extended Universe has come nowhere near to matching the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whereas 2012’s The Avengers was praised as one of the greatest comic book movies ever made and grossed over $1.5 billion, 2017’s Justice League was panned by critics, mostly ignored by audiences, and became a box office bomb. There are certain specific missteps in the early makeup of the DCEU that stopped it from coming close to competing with the MCU. Here are 10 Mistakes The DCEU Made That Prevented It From Matching The MCU’s Success.
