Water drops are one of the most iconic images of nature. They have been featured in literature, music, art, and photography for centuries. Water drops can symbolize life, hope and renewal. They can also signify sadness or grief with their teardrop shape.

The shape of a water drop is determined by many factors like surface tension and gravity. Depending on environmental conditions like humidity and temperature, the size of a single droplet may range from mere microns to several millimeters in diameter. When gathered together in large numbers these tiny droplets can form powerful bodies of flowing water such as rivers or oceans. The unique beauty of a single drop however cannot be matched by larger bodies of water making them so appealing to capture on film or canvas.
