Sergio Kun Aguero Becomes Manchester City’s All-Time Leading Goal Scorer. Sergio Kun Aguero has become Manchester City’s all-time leading goal scorer, after netting his 178th goal for the club in a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

The Argentine striker has been with City for over nine years, during which time he has won six major trophies, including three Premier League titles. Kun Aguero is also the club’s record holder for most goals in a single season, having scored 32 goals in the 2015-16 campaign.

Commenting on his achievement, Kun Aguero said: “I’m really happy to have scored this goal and to have broken the club’s all-time scoring record. It’s something I never thought would happen when I first joined City, but I’m really proud to have done it.

Sergio Kun Aguero, also known as Kun, is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Argentina national team. Kun began his career at Independiente, where he earned the nickname “El Kun”, before moving to Atlético Madrid in 2006.

He played a vital role in Atlético’s victory in the 2010 UEFA Europa League Final, scoring the winning goal in their 3–2 comeback win against Marseille. In July 2011, Aguero transferred to Manchester City for £38 million. With City he has won three Premier League titles and is one of only five players to have scored more than 20 goals in four consecutive Premier League seasons. Kun has also represented Argentina at two FIFA World Cups and three Copa America tournaments.

At the beginning of Agüero’s professional career, he was a member of the Argentine club Independiente. On July 5, 2003, at the age of 15 years and 35 days, he broke the record that Diego Maradona had held for the previous 27 years by becoming the youngest player to play in the Argentine Primera División. Agüero moved to the La Liga club Atlético Madrid in 2006 in a transfer that was worth €23 million. He quickly established himself as one of the best young players in the world and one of the most prolific players in La Liga, winning the Don Balón, the Golden Boy, and the World Soccer Young Player of the Year awards.
