Black Panther 2 #wakandaforever – First look at #Namor the Submariner via MCU #tenochhuerta Mejía
Namor, also known as the Sub-Mariner, is a fictional character that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character first appeared publicly in Marvel Comics #1 (cover-dated Oct. 1939), which was the first comic book from Timely Comics, the 1930s–1940s predecesor of Marvel Comics.
Namor is the mutant son of a human sea captain and a princess of the ancient undersea realm of Atlantis. In addition to his other superhuman skills, he possesses the superhuman strength and aquatic abilities of the Homo mermanus race, as well as the ability to fly that is unique to mutants. Over the course of his life, he has been portrayed as an antihero, variously as a heroic figure with a good heart but a short fuse or as an antagonistic invader looking for retribution for perceived wrongs committed against his kingdom by surface-dwellers with a naive perspective.
The Sub Mariner was the first known antihero to appear in a comic book, and he has continued to be a historically significant and relatively popular Marvel character. In addition to working closely with the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, the Invaders, the Defenders, the X-Men, and the Illuminati, he has also, on occasion, played the role of an adversary to these groups.
In his first appearance in a live-action film, Namor will be played by Tenoch Huerta in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther 2 Wakanda Forever (2022).
