Avengers 4 Theory ‘Infinity War’ Theories: Thanos Was Not The Film’s True Villain

Avengers 4 Theory, Mr Thanos is not the real bad guy with regards to destroying half the universe in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 one theory from a fan suggests. Nuts.

I think we can all agree, Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War is one of the best superhero movies of all time. I’ve watched it 3 times already, and the drama is intense. Wanda killing Vision is still one of the best deaths ever. There were tons of moments where watching fans were on the edge of their seats, mouths agape. Simultaneously, the climax and the end-credit scene showed that anything is now possible as all our superheroes have now joined the “end game.”

Paul Rudd movie Ant-Man and the Wasp revealed why Ant-Man didn’t link up with Captain Steve Rogers aka Captain America in the battle ultimate with Thanos. Although what Ant-Man or Giant-Man even would have done is a moot point. The very cool looking Captain Marvel movie is undoubtedly going to reveal insight into how Carol Danvers aka Ms Marvel aka Captain Marvel is going to aid the Avengers and Guardians in defeating Thanos once and for all.

Avengers 4 is still 6 months or so away from its release date, but social media and Google searches show that people cannot stop talking about it. Just look at all the questions on Quora. Every single social media platforms and network are inundated with different theories from hardcore Marvel fans. A recent theory that hit the Internet in the last few days discusses that Thanos is not the real villain we need to worry about.

In Infinity War, we all saw how Thanos is one of the best erudite antagonists the MCU has come up against. His intentions of culling the universe were unexpected [for some anyway]. According to an Infinity War Redditor fan over on Reddit, the real “villain” in the Infinity War and the untitled fourth film is none other than the Mind Stone. The Avengers 4 Theory goes that, amongst all the Infinity Stones, the Mind Stone has the “desire” to eliminate half of the universe’s population.

Zaneman777, the Redditor whose theory it is, points out that in many of the Marvel films, whenever the topic is Mind Stones, someone wants to kill someone. Right at the beginning of Marvel films, Loki acquired the Mind Stone and began a war against Planet Earth. In Winter Soldier, the Mind Stone was with Shield (Hydra), and all Hydra’s members were up against anyone who was considered as a threat i.e. everyone really.

Theory 2
Almost anything feels possible for Avengers 4 with so many theories which make yet another fan theory very depressing reading.

This Reddit fan theory discusses how the remaining Avengers would be able to acquire the Soul Stone. It takes into account that not a single Avenger or Guardian was present when Thanos killed Gamora to get the Soul Stone and that Gamora’s sister Nebula (Karen Gillan) could somehow fit the jigsaw.

Many clues mean we can reasonably assume that Avengers 4 involves some form of time travel – a fact that has been its own running theory for Marvel Cinema fans. The argument about Nebula has it that a future version of Nebula could theoretically travel BACK in time to before Gamora tags along to Vormir with Thanos. She informs Gamora about what’s about to happen to her. Then, the two sisters travel to Vormir, where Nebula will force /trick Gamora into sacrificing her and push her off of the cliff to get the Soul Stone before Daddy Thanos comes to a calling.

You can bet that would be quite an emotional sequence, but it would make sense on some level as an Avengers 4 Theory. The Russos brothers have stated the other heroes will be resurrected, but they will pay the price [see below theory 3]. This is in line with the whole “trading the living for the dead” approach [another one!!] around Avengers 4. In other words, most of the Avengers and maybe a Rocket Guardian currently standing will sacrifice themselves. Some theories even talk about as many as four of the original Avengers will make sacrifices. The Nebula Reddit post argues that this would help Nebula’s story arc come full 360 circles, i.e. she finally gets sweet revenge on Thanos AND proves that Gamora absolutely loves her sister.

Karen Gillan also from Dr Who said of playing Nebula during a recent convention appearance “I thought when I signed onto the first Guardians that I was going to shoot for eight days and then die” “That’s what it was in the script.” Yet here she still is potentially going to play a pivotal role in saving the universe.

“The fact that all of this has happened with the character is astonishing, but not.” Ms. Gillan stated. “Because when I did the screen test for Nebula, it was quite an emotional scene between her and Gamora, which never made it — it was a fake scene, so it wasn’t in the movie. It was an emotional scene, but I started crying during it .

Nebula could get her moment with the Infinity Gauntlet from the original comics, where she uses it on Thanos. With all the curveballs the Russo Bros have thrown our way it is not impossible that Nebula could have a more favourable outcome in Avengers 4 Theory. Either way, fans need to be prepared for Nebula to have a significant role in Avengers Four.

Theory 3
AVENGERS 4’s ending will see dead characters resurrected right? Black Panther, Spider-Man, Dr Strange have got new movies in the pipeline. We know they will be back, but will Captain America have to sacrifice Iron Man for the Soul Stone on Vormir? With Red Skull about a Cap scene seems kind of obvious. Or will Bucky be sacrificed again? Or will Bucky sacrifice Steve? The problem with Steve giving up Tony would mean one of them loves each other which doesn’t make any sense. One way or another, the sequel to Avengers Infinity War will be both the end of an era and the explosion of a new one. Civil War differences between Iron Man and Captain America are going to have to be put aside , that’s also certain, and team up to somehow to resurrect the characters who turned to ash – a plot point made sure by our point above that many have new movies coming.

Its no way a coincidence at all that the survivors of Thanos’ Snap are the original Avengers team, plus a few extras, i.e. Rocket and maybe a resurrected White Vision.

While it’s no secret that Thanos’ Snap will somehow be reversed, directors of Avengers Infinity War and Avengers 4 as we mentioned above have teased that it will “come at an incredibly high cost.”

Speaking with Variety, Anthony Russo said: “I will say this: There is a real commitment on our end to the stakes. Yes, this is a fantasy world, and yes, remarkable things can happen in a fantasy world, but…”

Joe Russo finished for him: “They come at an incredibly high cost.” Joe continued: “For us, there will always be stakes, and the stakes have been progressing from film to film. And I think you can extrapolate that they will continue to deepen in Avengers 4.”

There will be many a discussion which out of Black Widow, Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, and Ronin / Hawkeye will die in the fight back, there is one obvious narrative trope that looks likely to be used. And no we don’t mean the prevailing boring theory that Captain America will die; he’s too pure, too pious already. Cap would always be first in line and we saw him sacrifice already in hsi first movie.

The most obvious Avengers 4 Theory is Tony Stark, the figurehead and lynchpin of the movie franchise, the mentor and father figure to Peter Parker and the character with a deep character development that has seen him move from arrogant selfish billionaire playboy to sacrificial hero. Doctor Strange traded the Time Stone for Tony’s life to ensure the Endgame occurred – perhaps he needs him to die later on.

And what better way for Iron Man to bow out than to give up his life in exchange for those who died in Avengers Infinity War. But how?

Just imagine if the soul stone get to Vormir, where Thanos had to sacrifice the one he loved for it: Gamora.

Now imagine its somehow Stark that gives up his life.

That would be the perfect end to Iron Man’s character arc, the ideal end to the first MCU saga and the ideal end to Avengers 4.

Avengers 4 will be released on May 3, 2019, and more theories about the characters and their fate will keep on surfacing.
