A Metal Gear Solid Movie based on Hideo Kojima’s Metal Gear Solid video game franchise is in the works, with Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts attached to direct it. Vogt-Roberts has now given an update on the project, but unfortunately for fans, it doesn’t sound like it’s happening anytime soon.

In an appearance on Star Wars writer Gary Whitta’s Animal Talking show, Vogt-Roberts said a script is finished, but he has yet to be given the greenlight from a studio to actually make it. He shared that he wants to do it at a sizeable budget to faithfully capture the essence of the game series.The Metal Gear Solid Movie Is currently on Hold while the Corona Virus Pandemic still persists.
