A new update was pushed out for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare recently and it appears data miners have found another confirmation of the existence of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered. At this point, you have to wonder if the developers are putting these clues out there deliberately.
Reddit user MrEarthboundFan posted the image below on Twitter claiming they had datamined it from the recent update files of Modern Warfare.
That is not the only image and more can be found in the album below.
By themselves, these images could be considered fakes but with all the other leaks that have come regarding the remaster it is likely these images will be used at some point on the Modern Warfare dashboard once the game is announced. Earlier this week, the South Korean rating board listed Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered with approval sent for it on February 26th. Last year, PEGI had a similar listing for the game. Amazon listed the remaster two years ago and a later rumour suggested that it would be the campaign only and that seems to be correct.
That’s not all of the Call of Duty rumours though. There are whispers, thanks to VGC, that suggest the 2020 Call of Duty title will be a reboot of the Black Ops franchise which would see the return of Alex Mason. This reboot is apparently in development at Treyarch and will go down a similar path to the recent Modern Warfare reboot with call backs to the original games but with some changes to the events to make it a bit fresher. For example, in Vietnam there may be missions from the Viet Cong point of view. There is also another rumour that Sledgehammer Games is working on another free to play Call of Duty title which is supposedly due next year.
