During the 2000s, he hosted the BBC One chat show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross, aired his own BBC Radio 2 show from 1999 to 2010, and worked as a film reviewer and presenter for the Film programme. Ross began hosting The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV after leaving the BBC in 2011. Ross began his television career as a programme researcher before making his debut as a television presenter in 1987 on Channel 4’s The Last Resort with Jonathan Ross. He had various radio and television roles during the next decade, several of them through his own production business, Channel X. He sold his stake in Channel X in 1995 and went to work for the BBC. Ross took over as host of the Film programme from Barry Norman in 1999, and he also started hosting his own radio show. Two years later, he became the host of Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
