Pop! Review: Garfield – POPVINYLS.COM

Today, I wanted to take a look at one of the newest Pop! Vinyls to my collection. Although it was released back in 2019, I totally forgot to pick this one up for my collection… and I am still needing to bring his counterpart in as well. Hating Mondays, here is the lasagna-loving, fat-cat himself… Garfield!

Garfield was one of my favorite characters growing up. From the Jim Davis drawn comic strips to the TV specials to the Saturday Morning show Garfield & Friends, Garfield was in all honesty an integral part of my childhood. I loved the characters, especially Odie. The animated TV series ran for 7 seasons from 1988 to 1995, so it started when I was seven and ended when I was entering high school at 14. I remember watching the show and the TV specials often. So, when Funko announced that Garfield and Odie would be made in Pop! form, I knew that eventually they would be in my collection.

I still have yet to add Odie to my collection, but I am happy that Garfield is here. I love the sculpt, which his mischievous smirk. There is also a “I Hate Mondays” version of Garfield, with his morning scowl and his coffee mug… because we all know that he needs coffee every morning. This version was exclusive to Funko Shop in 2019.
