Review: Playmobil Scooby-Doo! Collection – POPVINYLS.COM

[ad_1]

Today, I want to take a look at a new collection from our friends over at Playmobil. Featuring those pesky, meddling band of teenage investigators and their lovable Great Dane, here is the first releases in the Scooby-Doo! collection.

For today’s review, Playmobil has graciously sent me over to review The Mystery Machine Play Set, the Scooby-Doo & Shaggy with Ghost Set, and one of the Ghost Mystery Packs. Let’s check them out.

The Mystery Machine Play Set features a buildable Mystery Machine, along with Fred, Daphne, and Velma. The set also featured a lot of accessories and a light up command center where the team can view their case files (ghost cards)… literally.

Some assembly required.

Assembly of the Mystery Machine was pretty simple. I would suggest that parents help with the installation of the seats and the side door, at the very least.

The command center requires a AAA battery to light up. Clear case files fit on the right hand side facing the command center. This set includes case files of Scooby-Doo, the Mystey Inc. Gang (or The Scoobies), and a map.

And here is Fred, Daphne, and Velma.

Each character comes with a sticker, which can be put on a collector’s poster, available at some retailers.

Next up, here is the smaller set with Scooby-Doo and Shaggy.

This set not only includes Scooby-Doo and Shaggy, but also the Ghost, which glows-in-the-dark. Note: the Ghost does glow in the dark, but I could not get a good picture of it for the review.

Accessories include the Ghost case file, a flashlight, a burger, a bag of Scooby Snacks, and what I believe is a snare.

The set also comes with three more stickers.

This is a fun small set, and completes the Mystery Inc. gang.

Finally, I open one of the Ghost Mystery Packs. These packs are blind-bagged, and each contains one of twelve popular ghosts from the franchise. My bag contained The Headless Horseman.

Also included is the case file and sticker.

Overall, this is such a fun collection, and I can’t wait to see more sets released in it. At Toy Fair, I saw some sets that are coming out that look really fun. Here are the promotional shots of their packages. Each of these sets includes a version of Scooby-Doo, and either Ghosts, members of the Mystery Inc. gang, or both.

Special thanks to the Playmobil team for sending these over for me to review. I loved growing up watching the different incarnations of Scooby-Doo , and this is a great addition to my toy collection. Much appreciated.
