Gibsons calls out Amazon and eBay third-party sellers over product price inflation – ToyNews

Gibsons has urged families and consumers shopping for its ranges of games and puzzles to avoid paying the inflated prices certain items are being sold at on platforms like Amazon and eBay by sellers looking to unfairly capitalise on the growing demand for home entertainment amid the global lockdown measures.

Taking to social media to call out the price inflation. the UK family run and independent jigsaw puzzle and games specialist has instead urged those looking to purchase Gibsons products to do so via any number of the independent toy store partners it currently works with.

Gibsons states that it has recently been made aware that its puzzles are being sold at inflated prices on websites like Amazon and eBay. The finding prompted the company to issue the follow statement.

“We would like to assure you that the puzzles we sell on Amazon are at the usual price of £14 (for a 1000 piece) and we do not sell on eBay. Anything that is higher than our standard RRPs are being sold by a third-party company that has no affiliation with us.

“We understand how important jigsaw puzzles are during this time of isolation and would never take advantage of this.

“We urge you not to purchase puzzles at such inflated prices. Instead, we recommend shopping at smaller online retailers who have been fair and loyal customers of ours for a long time.”

In its official statement hosted on its company website, Gibsons has gone on to offer an extensive list of alternative retailer options:
