We’ve known for a while that Carnage is gonna be the main villain in Venom 2 but we now have some new information regarding Eddie Brock’s research into Cletus Kasady and some of the characters comic book accurate origin. A notebook belonging Brock revealed that Kasady racked up a high body count over the course of his life before being jailed in San Francisco’s San Quentin prison. Kasady pushed his grandmother down a flight of stairs, killing her, before later going on a “huge” massacre in New York City and then slaughtering 11 people in Ryker’s maximum-security penitentiary. Brock learned Kasady has an Oedipus Complex and once dug up his mother’s grave. The Brooklyn-born mass murderer is described by Eddie as a homicidal maniac with “an insane mind” and “a lust for destruction.” As a child, an orphaned Kasady grew up in St. Estes Home for Boys, which was later set aflame — by Kasady, — killing the Disciplinarian Administrator.
Brock’s notes also reveal Kasady tortured and killed his mother’s dog with a drill and once pushed a girl in front of a bus, instantly killing her when she rejected his advances. According to Brock’s write up, for Kasady, unpatterned bloodshed marks “the ultimate freedom.” However, we still don’t know how Carnage will appear or how it’ll bond to Kasady. But a few days ago over 2000 frames of concept art coming from Paolo Giandoso the senior concept artist over at D Negative that were originally meant to be in the first Venom movie were revealed. Carnage was originally supposed to be the villain in the first Venom film and you can see a lot of scenes of Carnage from the first movie that were ultimately switched out with Riot. And thanks to these images we can see our first look at what Carnage will look like in Venom 2. And we can even see some things that might happen in the sequel like Carnage completely absorbing Venom. Now I obviously can’t go over all of them but I’ll leave a link in the description for if you wanna check them out yourselves because they’re really cool and they go into a lot of detail fully showcasing entire scenes. However, around the time these pictures were found Sony announced that they wouldn’t release any Marvel movies until theaters were back open in full capacity which means that we’re probably not gonna see another trailer for Morbius or our first trailer for Venom 2 Let There Be Carnage any time soon. And because Spider-Man 3 is a sony and Marvel Studios joint project even though it was recently moved to December 17th, 2021 it could potentially get delayed again depending on how things are by then and what happens with Black Widow and the rest of the MCU’s fourth phase.
