Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough, the film is the ultimate wish fulfillment tale of a teenage Gran Turismo player whose gaming skills won a series of Nissan competitions to become an actual professional racecar driver.

World’s Best Selling Video Game Comes to Life in Upcoming Gran Turismo Movie

The world’s best selling video game franchise, Gran Turismo, is making the leap from console to cinema with the upcoming movie adaptation of the beloved racing game. The film will bring the intense racing action and exotic cars of the game to life on the big screen.

Gran Turismo has sold over 80 million copies worldwide since its debut in 1997, and has become a cultural phenomenon across multiple generations of gamers. The movie adaptation is being produced by Sony Pictures and will be directed by James Mangold (Logan, Ford v Ferrari). The plot follows an aspiring racer who sets out to break into the professional racing scene while competing against a variety of colorful characters.

In addition to providing an adrenaline-filled ride for fans of the game, Gran Turismo promises to transport viewers into a visually stunning world.
