‘A feisty forensic investigator is gathering evidence at the murder scene. Until the corpse posthumously communicates with the investigators through its decaying farts. They must conduct a most unusual interview to catch the killer’.
Winner of Best Comedy Short Film at the 2021 British Short Film Awards, Viskar I Vinden is truly fantastic!
Director Statement:
I wanted to do an incredibly pretentious art film, but the subject was tremendously childish and lowbrow. I landed on making a Nordic Noir about farts. Myself, and the crew, do not speak a word of Swedish. We had to rely on my Brother’s Girlfriend (who’s Swedish) and the native fluent cast. I had a loose idea as to what was said when I was directing. But that’s only because I had written the script. We knew the tone couldn’t be comical, and it had to take itself seriously to be funny. I directed the film as if it were a high-art film and rely on the situation for the comedy to emerge.
