Creators4Comics Raises Over $430,000 to Benefit Comic Shops Hit by COVID-19

Over 100 comics writers, artists, authors, and other supporters came together to provide financial help to comic book retailers and independent bookstores hit hard by COVID-19 with the #Creators4Comics Twitter auction to benefit the Book Industry Charitable Foundation (BINC).

The auction ran from Wednesday, April 15 to Monday, April 20 and raised over $430,000 in donations.

“When we launched, we had 150 committed creators, which is a great, fantastic number,” said creator Sam Humphries in an interview with CBR. “What we did not expect is that the vast majority of the auctions came from creators, authors, celebrities or even just fans seeing what was going on and stepping up on their own to meet this challenge to our community.”

This artwork from David Mack sold at auction for $2,200.
